About Designed by Dom
Designed by Dom is a clothing brand focused on creating unique garments reconstructed from upcycled sportswear. Each piece is handmade, combining elements of sports history with modern streetwear. What began as a personal creative pursuit has grown into a brand supported by athletes, creatives, and supporters of the culture.
The Story
Designed by Dom began the summer after my freshman year of college when I decided to teach myself how to sew and start experimenting with garments. I had always been drawn to sports culture and the history behind jerseys and team apparel, and I became interested in finding new ways to give those pieces a second life.
By reconstructing vintage sportswear and combining it with hoodies, patches, and other materials, I started creating one-of-one garments that carried both history and individuality. Every piece is still made by hand using my sewing machine, staying true to the process that started the brand.
As the brand has grown, Designed by Dom has been showcased through market events, fashion shows, and collaborations with athletes and supporters of the brand. These moments have allowed the pieces to move beyond the sewing machine and into spaces where people can experience them in person.
Today, the focus remains the same: creating one-of-one garments that transform vintage sportswear into something entirely new.
